The Indian government in the month of April 2025 announced a new kind of annual FASTag pass for Indian vehicle owners. It will allow private car users to save money on toll payments by paying a flat fee of Rs 3,000 for the entire year.
This new plan brings several features to the FASTag that were used previously. According to the new FASTag annual plan, users have an option to recharge for at least Rs 3,000, and this will cover a whole year or 200 trips (whichever is earlier). The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways said the new system, designed solely for private and non-commercial vehicles like private cars, jeeps, and vans. This aims to tackle the “long-standing queues” on toll plazas.
What is the Annual FASTag Pass in India?
This is the new Annual FASTag Pass that allows private car owners to travel on the National Highway without paying separate tolls for each trip. By paying Rs 3,000 once a year, the vehicle owners will get 200 trips or one year of toll access, whichever is earlier. Once the limit is over, the pass stops working and the FASTag returns to normal mode.

You can purchase the Annual Pass through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or from the NHAI website. After filling in your vehicle details and your FASTag is valid as of the date, you need to pay the Rs 3,000 payment online. Once confirmed, the Annual Pass gets linked to your existing FASTag, and validity will start.
What is the validity of FASTag Annual Pass?
This pass is valid for one year from the activation date or up to 200 trips (whichever comes earlier). After reaching the validity, you can buy a new pass to continue using the benefit, or normal toll charges will be applicable.
Who can use FASTag Annual Pass in India?
Only private cars, jeeps, or vans used for non-commercial purposes are allowed. If a commercial vehicle tries to use the pass, it will be deactivated.
